THE LAWS OF THE GOVERNMENT OF NEW ZION
1.)The first law of the land is to follow the Ten Commandments as was given to Moses and then the eleventh commandment "Love thy Neighbor as Thyself" as given by Jesus.
2.)There shall be no tolerance of public disruption in terms of foul language, threats, or other acts of violence from one person to another. This law is instated not only out of courtesy toward other people but also for the safety of the children. They should not be forced to hear their parents or other adults around them use these words or these violent actions.
3.)All citizens shall pay a tithe to the Governing Priesthood of the Body of Christ equaling out to no less then $60 each month, as has been commanded by God. Should a Citizen find themselves inable to pay this in a monitary value they are permitted to pay in other goods that can be used such as produce, grains, cattle, etc. In doing this, should they find themselves in a time of need they will be able to receive the help they need from the body of Christ. Any Citizens that do not pay tithing after a period of 3 months shall loose their full citizenship. They shall be granted temporary citizenship for an additional 3 months. If by that time they have not paid their back and current tithing, they shall loose their citizenship and must reapply in order to get their citizenship back.
4.)Drugs are not allowed in New Zion save for the ones permitted by law. Any person caught using or selling drugs shall be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
5.)Citizens are permitted to hold duel citizenships in New Zion and any other country.
6.)The legal age for marriage is 16 years old for both parties.
7.)There are only two reasons why a married couple is permitted to divorce.
a.)The husband or wife either one cheats on their spouse and the spouse seeks divorce from the cheater.
b.)There is physical abuse to the point that the person?s life is in danger.
8.)Unless there is enough substantial evidence that a woman is an unfit mother then in all cases where a divorced is filed for and there are children involved the children shall go with the mother, unless the children are at least 8 years of age and can without doubt in their mind state they would rather live with the father. Determination for judgement of unfit mothers must fall under one of the following 3 groups.
a.) drunkard
b.) drug addict
c.) known prostitute
9.)Unless there is a serious risk of loosing the life of the woman, abortions are illegal, and in order to receive permission for this to occur the woman's doctor must present substantial evidence to the Head Apostle of the ministry in charge of the body of Christ and receive his permission to perform the abortion.
10.) Any adults transporting underage children without seatbelts on shall be held accountable for the children not wearing them and shall be fined up to $150 per underage child.
11.) Wine and beer shall be the only liquor permitted in the country. Also there shall be no liquor stores, rather all alcoholic beverages sold can be bought in either fine dining locations, grocery stores, or convent stores.
12.) Any persons found to be drinking and driving shall be arrested and placed in
prison for a minimum of 1 year and a maximum of 3 years as well as a $1,000.00 fine. Also any person found riding in a car with a drunk driver shall be arrested, fined $500.00 and placed in prison for 60 days.
13.)The legal age for drinking and bearing arms in New Zion is 18 years old.
14.)There will be no outside weapons allowed into the country. All weapons used will be bought inside the country. Also no weapons will ever be sold to non-citizens under any circumstances.
15.) All persons caught in the act of perjury will be punished according to the
seriousness of the crime they are conspiring to cover.
16.) No Citizen may be executed.
17.) No Citizen may be held in a state of slavery.
18.) No Citizen may be subjected to physical violence.
19.) No Citizens or visitors may commit an action that in any way harms the natural
environment. These actions include, but are not limited to littering, burying human-made goods, and unnecessarily killing of wildlife.
20.) No Citizens or visitors may gamble or bet under any circumstances.
21.)There will be no smoking in any areas not designated by the country. Anyone found smoking in these areas will be fined not less then $250.00 and not more than $1,000.00 or 15 to 60 days imprisonment.
22.) The Government of New Zion has the right to collect data information in reguards to its citizens upon request for citizenship to the country. The Government does not have right to openly disclose, in any part, the information gathered to any nation without the consent of the citizen in question. No public lists of citizenship shall ever be available to outside nations, organizations, etc.
23.)Citizens of New Zion do not own their housing or cars. Rather all buildings and motor vehicles belong to the government and are leased by the citizens. This is done in order to ensure that all buildings are up to proper building codes as set forth in the country and all motor vehicles meet standards set out by the government as well. This allows for proper maintenance on housing and motor vehicles.
24.) Due to the Government owning all vehicles there is no need for motor vehicle insurance. If involved in an accident, then each person shall deal with their own injuries. Should death occur then the matter will be handled inside the courts of the land.
25.) All laws set out by the Government shall be upheld by the ministry in charge of the body of Christ as well as all ministry laws shall be upheld by the Government.
26.)Should any laws be broken, whether Governmental or ministry law, there shall be a convening of The Board of Elders consisting of no fewer then 7 seats up to the maximum of 25 seats in odd number settings. (i.e. 7,9,11)
27.) The King or Queen has a right to overthrow any decision made by the Board of Elders on any case heard, without rebuttle from the Board of Elders.
28.) Any Citizens enlisted in foreign military sevices will not be permitted to receive any money from the government during their time in the military of the foreign government. Also there will be no back pay once they return from their service. They will simply pick up receiving money where they left off.
29.) Any person claiming full citizenship who does not pay full tithing for a period of three (3) months shall be placed on a probation period in terms of their citizenship. They will be required to work in the ministry over the body of Christ until their back tithing has been paid.
30.) Any person claiming duel citizenship who does not pay full tithing for a period of three (3) months shall have their duel citizenship revoked. Should this occur they must reapply for duel citizenship. Their citizenship request will be reviewed by the Board of Elders and their decision shall be final unless Law Twenty-Seven (27) is proclaimed upon the application.
31.) If a person, claiming full citizenship, is placed on probation for unpaid tithing and they do not work in the ministry over the body of Christ to repay their tithing, upon the fifth (5) month of their unpaid tithing they will have their citizenship revoked. To regain their citizenship they must reapply for citizenship. Their citizenship request will be reviewed by the Board of Elders and their decision shall be final unless law twenty-seven (27) is proclaimed upon the application.
32.) All physical harm occuring against any citizen(s) shall be the responsiblity of the Government of New Zion to render judgement and punishment against the offender(s). All emotional and spiritual harm occuring against any citizen(s) shall be the responsiblity of the Christians of Sion to render judgement and punishment against the offender(s).
